Why I created Uroclips

I was already carrying a lot. A urine bag tearing early was one more problem I did not need.

I cared for my dad for six years. During that time, I learned that caregiving is made up of many small responsibilities that do not stop when you are tired.

The urine bags had their own replacement guidance from the healthcare professionals supporting us. But more than once, before the planned change date, I woke in the morning and found that one hanging hole of a full overnight urine bag had torn.

I used tape, rubber bands or replaced the bag early. If I had no spare, I had to go out and buy another one. It may sound like a small problem, but when you are already managing so much on your own, it becomes another task, another cost and another source of stress.

I wanted to spend more time with my dad, and have a little more time for myself, rather than running around because a basic urine bag had torn where it was hanging.

So I designed Uroclips as a simple external pair of clips that works with selected compatible urine bags already in use. One clip fits over each hanging hole. For me, it became one less thing to worry about. That mattered.
